Our Canine Crew

As big, fun and boisterous as his namesake, Yosef the Mountaineer, mascot of Appalachian State University, Yosef is one incredible Berner.  The man of the house, he is super sweet and kind while keeping a watchful and protective eye on our home.  Yosef is a total goofball and loves to play and roughhouse.  He is also very affectionate and is the only dog we've ever known that when you pet him, he just has to pet you back! Yosef loves to be outside, especially in the snow!  He is always up for a hike or playing at the park.

Yosef has been hard at work at and has achieved the following titles and certifications:

--AKC Canine Good Citizen ("CGC")

--AKC Community Canine

--AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (Urban) certification ("CGCA")

--AKC Trick Dog Novice

--AKC Trick Dog Intermediate

--AKC Trick Dog Advanced

--AKC Star Puppy

Yosef is an amazingly beautiful dog. His markings are perfect and he is huge at 110 lbs, the upper end of the normal weight range for male Berners. He has had all applicable Berner genetic testing performed, as well as OFA's on hips and elbows, and passed with flying colors! His bloodlines trace back to Belgium to one of the most renowned Berner breeders in the world.

*Yosef retired from his career as lead stud dog in the summer of 2024 and now enjoys spending his newly found spare time playing golf, skiing and sharing a good bourbon with the ladies.*
