"I chose Sunny Chestnut Farm for my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy for several reasons, the biggest being how transparent Tyler is about her dogs, puppies, and breeding program on social media and her website. I followed Sunny Chestnut for several months before reaching out about being placed on the waiting list. Tyler answered all of my questions — and I had a lot! I volunteer with a nonprofit organization that breeds dogs for service work, so I am familiar with responsible breeding practices and early puppy development. I was thrilled to learn that she follows many of the same protocols I see used by the nonprofit. She is very knowledgeable about the health, development, and care of the breed. I also appreciated that she focuses only on Bernese Mountain Dogs and that the parents are on site. Another thing that stood out to me was that many of her adult dogs are therapy dogs and have earned numerous AKC training titles. To me, that shows she truly cares about her dogs as family members and working companions — not just for breeding. I was on the waitlist for almost a year, and I was completely fine with that. To me, that shows she breeds responsibly — only when the timing is right for the mother dog and when she can provide the best care for the puppies. When I was selected to receive a puppy from a litter, I was thrilled. From birth through eight weeks, Tyler kept me updated on the puppies’ development with emails and photos. I also appreciated that she selected the puppy based on my personal history, lifestyle, and my hope to eventually do therapy work with my Berner. I could not be more pleased with my puppy. His temperament is exactly what Tyler described. He is a happy, healthy puppy — sweet, eager to learn, and already showing many classic Bernese characteristics. I have owned Bernese Mountain Dogs before, but I chose Sunny Chestnut for all the reasons above. My Berner is now almost five months old, and I couldn’t be happier with him."

"I first fell in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs over 30 years ago and knew even then that someday I would have one of my own. When the time finally came, I began the process by learning everything I could about the breed, following breeders online, and eventually reaching out to a few. It was instantly clear that Sunny Chestnut Farm was different after my first phone conversation with Tyler. You could tell right away how much she truly loves the breed and how knowledgeable she is. She shared the good, the bad, and the ugly about Bernese Mountain Dogs and what it takes to raise one. In fact, she never tried to talk me into getting a puppy from her, almost the opposite. She wanted to be sure that if someone decided to get one of her dogs, they fully understood the commitment. If she could scare you away, then you probably weren’t the right fit. Fortunately, we passed the “background check” and were placed on the waitlist. Tyler spent time talking with us to help determine which puppy would be the best fit for our family. I had mentioned that Roman was one of my favorite dogs of hers, and as it turns out, we ended up with his son, Fynn. Fynn is a great example of the breed standard. People tell us all the time he is one of the prettiest Berner's they have seen. Fynn has the best temperament and has been an incredibly healthy dog (health is a big deal with this breed), everything we could have hoped for. Berners require a lot of patience and care, and Tyler was there for us the entire first year. We had regular phone calls, and she was always willing to answer questions and offer guidance. If you’re looking for a breeder who truly has a heart for what she does and deeply cares about her dogs and the families they go to, I highly recommend Sunny Chestnut Farm."

"Exactly one year ago, we welcomed our beautiful Bear into our family and I can honestly say he has brought more joy, love, and laughter into our family than we ever imagined possible. From the moment we brought him home, it was clear that Bear had been raised with exceptional care. He arrived already potty-trained, confident, healthy, and incredibly well-socialized—ready to thrive in our home and become the gentle giant we dreamed of. Today, he is the most wonderful, gentle, intelligent, obedient, and loving dog. Every member of our family adores him, and he truly feels like the heart of our household. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and professionalism of Tyler at Sunny Chestnut Farm. You pour so much heart into your breeding program—working tirelessly to promote longevity in the breed, prioritizing healthy bloodlines, and raising puppies in such a thoughtful, devoted way. Your expertise, hard work, and genuine love for Bernese Mountain Dogs shine through in every puppy you produce. We are already looking forward to adding another Bernese from Sunny Chestnut Farm to our family soon. Bear has shown us just how special these dogs can be when bred and raised with the level of care you provide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are forever grateful for the incredible gift of Bear and for your unwavering commitment to this beautiful breed."
