"I chose Sunny Chestnut Farm for my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy for several reasons, the biggest being how transparent Tyler is about her dogs, puppies, and breeding program on social media and her website. I followed Sunny Chestnut for several months before reaching out about being placed on the waiting list. Tyler answered all of my questions — and I had a lot! I volunteer with a nonprofit organization that breeds dogs for service work, so I am familiar with responsible breeding practices and early puppy development. I was thrilled to learn that she follows many of the same protocols I see used by the nonprofit. She is very knowledgeable about the health, development, and care of the breed. I also appreciated that she focuses only on Bernese Mountain Dogs and that the parents are on site. Another thing that stood out to me was that many of her adult dogs are therapy dogs and have earned numerous AKC training titles. To me, that shows she truly cares about her dogs as family members and working companions — not just for breeding. I was on the waitlist for almost a year, and I was completely fine with that. To me, that shows she breeds responsibly — only when the timing is right for the mother dog and when she can provide the best care for the puppies. When I was selected to receive a puppy from a litter, I was thrilled. From birth through eight weeks, Tyler kept me updated on the puppies’ development with emails and photos. I also appreciated that she selected the puppy based on my personal history, lifestyle, and my hope to eventually do therapy work with my Berner. I could not be more pleased with my puppy. His temperament is exactly what Tyler described. He is a happy, healthy puppy — sweet, eager to learn, and already showing many classic Bernese characteristics. I have owned Bernese Mountain Dogs before, but I chose Sunny Chestnut for all the reasons above. My Berner is now almost five months old, and I couldn’t be happier with him."

"My experience with Sunny Chestnut Farm has been nothing short of amazing. Tyler is a serious breeder. She is professional, dedicated, knowledgeable and kind. She truly cares about her dogs, and the pups families. I got Bella a couple of years ago. She was a tiny little bear. Today, she is an awesome, beautiful Bernese girl. Anywhere I take her, whether for a walk or to a dog park, she commands attention. Just about everyone stops to pet her or compliment her. "I had such a great experience with Sunny Chestnut Farm. I was researching Berner breeders and came across their website. I loved how informative and transparent it was with everything from bloodlines and the breeding process to how the puppies are raised and trained after being born. I was impressed with how they use ENS/Puppy Culture Techniques and that they expose them to all types of sounds, textures and animals. After that, I had a phone call with Tyler, got even more information and joined the waitlist immediately. Once I was next in line for an upcoming litter, Tyler stayed in regular contact with me and let me know when the puppies were born and that they were happy and healthy. I received weekly updates on how they were progressing along with so many helpful articles and training tips about Bernese Mountain Dogs. I told Tyler about my husband and I's lifestyle and that we had a senior Berner and a cat in our home. Tyler observed the puppies and how their temperaments and personalities were coming along and then picked which puppy would most likely suit our lifestyle and living situation best. Towards the end of the 8 weeks, we Face Timed with Tyler and found out which puppy would be ours! We drove to NC and picked up our new little man, Pretzel. Tyler gave us all his vet info, microchip info, and more helpful tips along with a blanket that had his mom and littermate’s scent on it to help with the first couple nights. We are so happy and in love with our new furmily member. He is so sweet and smart and getting along great with our other animals! I highly recommend Sunny Chestnut Farm and am currently trying to convince my husband to let me get a third Berner."

"We got the most amazing puppy from Sunny Chestnut Farm. The wait was definitely worth it. We chose SCF because of the way they raise their dogs and Tyler’s expertise and knowledge of the breed. Their dogs and puppies are members of their family and you can tell that they are bred with love. Once the puppies are born, you start getting a wealth of important information about what your baby will need. Any questions we had were immediately addressed. The puppies are posted almost daily on social media. It was wonderful to see them in such a loving environment. Tyler picked the perfect puppy to join our family. He is so sweet and calm. "Always having wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog, we found Sunny Chestnut Farm through their website and immediately knew their dogs were special - their pedigrees, health, service training, and the environment they are bred and raised in was exactly what we were hoping for. We had a call with Tyler to talk about her dogs, breeder experience, and the process to get on her waitlist (which was long, but well worth the wait). She used that call to make sure we and our lifestyle would be a good fit for one of her Berners, which highlighted how much she cares about where her pups end up. The experience from first contact, to pick-up day and beyond has been nothing but a pleasure!  Tyler is super easy to talk to and very responsive when questions have come up. As first-time puppy owners, choosing your dog can be nerve wracking. We chose Sunny Chestnut Farm because they truly care about the health and happiness of their dogs. We felt comfort seeing previous liters not only on their website, but also through social media. We waited for a female pup, and Tyler always kept us up to date. Once the pups were born, we received photos and videos and even took a visit to see the pups. Tyler always answered any questions we had and provided as much information as possible. Tyler continues to check in on her pups even almost 4 years later. Our baby Maple is the daughter of Sugar and Yosef. She is calm yet silly and playful. She is so very loyal, and loves other humans and animals. She is so smart, and of course SO cute. Maple is a very healthy dog, and hasn’t had any issues. Tyler’s knowledge and experience with animals was so helpful, and she even helped us find a good reputable emergency vet when Maple accidentally ingested a wild mushroom. Tyler continued to check in on her to make sure she was doing ok. We WILL go back to Sunny Chestnut Farm in the future, and we live all the way in Indiana now! We wouldn’t even bother to look anywhere else!"

"We had been following Sunny Chestnut Farm on Instagram long before we decided to get our first dog, just because we loved the breed and Tyler posts wonderful content about her gorgeous dogs. When we decided to get a BMD, we immediately contacted SCF to get more information. We never vetted any other breeder, we could tell from the start that this would be a great partnership. The wait time quoted was accurate, and it was clear that a lot of attention was given to making sure the puppies were raised/socialized well in the first 8 weeks and that the best puppy match was considered. Tyler asked so many good questions and paired us up with our dream girl, Ember. We received so much helpful information about the breed and raising a puppy in the time between Tyler confirming we had a puppy until the “gotcha” day. We never felt alone at any point, even after Ember came home, because Tyler was available and provided so much care and support. Ember is a wonderful dog, she is sassy and fun and sweet and just perfect – healthy, beautiful, and a wonderful “daughter”. She gets attention wherever she goes; we constantly hear from random people how beautiful she is. She has transformed our home and lives. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Sunny Chestnut Farm. What really stood out to me about them was their experience with the breed - they truly understand the Bernese Mountain Dog temperament and care deeply about raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies. Another reason I chose Sunny Chestnut Farm was the transparency of their program. Being able to follow past litters and get updates gave me a lot of confidence in the way their puppies are raised. The way the dogs are integrated into daily life made it clear that the puppies get plenty of attention and socialization via early exposure to people, dogs other animals, as well as to sounds and objects they will encounter once they go home. The entire process from start to finish was smooth and professional. Communication was always prompt and helpful, and they were happy to answer questions and share updates. They genuinely care about matching their puppies with the right families. Our Bernese Mountain Dog from Sunny Chestnut Farm has been absolutely incredible. She is smart, a fast learner, and eager to please, which made training surprisingly easy. At the same time, she has that classic Bernese personality—sweet, affectionate, and a little strong-willed. She’s wonderful with people, loves being part of the family, and has a calm but playful temperament. If you’re considering a Bernese Mountain Dog, I would absolutely recommend Sunny Chestnut Farm. They clearly put a lot of care, knowledge, and dedication into their breeding program, and it shows in the temperament and quality of their dogs. Getting a puppy from them was a great experience, and I would happily go through them again in the future. 

"We had a wonderful experience with Sunny Chestnut Farm adopting our Bernese, Sage. Before we were picked, Tyler took the time to ask us questions ensuring the puppy would be going to a safe and loving home. She sent us multiple updates before Sage was born and afterwards until we picked her up. Picking up Sage was a smooth process, and we even got to meet her mom, Sugar!
